Canada U20 Rugby Team 2025 Summer Tour to Fiji

Hi everyone,

My name is Daragh Doyle. I hope you are all keeping well.

I have been fortunate enough to be selected for Canada’s national U20 rugby team to participate in a 3-week training camp on Vancouver Island followed by a 3-week tour to Fiji where we will be playing against the U20 national teams of Samoa (28th of May), Fiji (2nd of June) and Tonga (7th of June).

This is a great honour, and I am absolutely delighted. However, despite ongoing efforts of all involved, age-grade rugby in Canada still requires a player pay component and to that end I have opened this GoFundMe campaign to help me cover this cost component and proudly represent Canada on the international stage.

Before I ask for your support, I would like to tell you a little bit about myself:

I am 19 years old and was born in Quebec City, Canada to an Irish father and Canadian mother. I spent the first part of my life living in Quebec City before moving to Munich in Germany where I lived until I was 18. Since August 2023, I have been living in Ireland where I am currently a student at University College Dublin.

My rugby journey began in Munich in 2017 when I was 12 years old. After a few false starts with other team sports my parents enrolled me in an after-school touch-rugby course (organised by Munich Rugby Football Club). I enjoyed the sport so much that I immediately joined the club where I played through the age grades from U14 up to senior rugby, meeting some fantastic people and making great memories along the way. Upon moving to Ireland in the summer of 2023, I joined Clontarf Rugby club and since then I have been playing for the club’s U20 team. Along my journey I have been supported by fantastic people who have helped me grow both as a rugby player and a person and I have made many friends for life.
