Canada's 1st addictions treatment for LGBTQ2SIAA

Please join us in providing support to build Canada's 1st residential treatment centre, supporting 2SLGBTQIAA+.

Working in partnership with Simon House Recovery Centre, we will make the Stonewall Recovery Centre dream a reality. Canada continues to be amid an addiction epidemic; we are losing people daily to drug overdose and adverse health effects due to addiction. Sometimes, people slip so far down even if they do not die, seeing a way out is almost impossible.

Stonewall Recovery is about having a safe place for 2SLGBTQ+ to recover from addiction. That safe place is even more critical when you have been misunderstood, abused, thrown away and victimized.

According to Statistics Canada, 4% of the population identifies as 2SLGBTQ+. But, 30-40% of the people on the street are in the 2SLGBTQ+ community. Runaways and Throw-aways, and the latter is the majority. How can we be ok with such a disparity in our society?

Our 2SLGBTQ+ community is dying at a greater rate than ever before, and the fact that no SAFE place exists where they can call home while they recover from the effects of addiction, is just wrong.

Unfortunately, as time passes, more Queer people continue to lose the battle for their lives. So the responsibility falls to each of us; to lean in, to put action to our words of support.

We are creating Stonewall Recovery Centre so that each person has agency in their recovery. Stonewall Recovery provides each person with dignity; it gives each person with a fighting chance.

This is where every one of you can make a difference, where you can be on the right side of history, be on the side which shows people they are not disposable.

In the last two years we have supported so many with our online program, and advocacy as they find housing, work and a new healthier community of sobriety (however that looks to them).

Stonewall Recovery Centre will accept people from all over Canada, so your money will go to those that you know and love as well.

If you can't donate, forward this to someone you feel can.

If you have any questions, please get in touch with us through GoFundMe or find Stonewall Recovery on social media.

Stonewall Recovery is in Partnership with Simon House Recovery Centre and all taxable receipts will be issued by Simon House Charitable Registration Number: 119150589 RR0001
