Cancer Can't Beat Us: Help My Nephew Fight Back
Donation protected
Meet my 17-year-old nephew, Orlando Jr., who has recently been diagnosed with bone cancer. It all started when he complained about pain in his knee. Little did we know that the diagnosis would be much worse. The cancer has now spread to his lungs, and the road ahead is long and uncertain.
This fundraiser is for my nephew and his mother, my sister, who is a single mom to five children (four at home), including my nephew. She is doing her best to be strong and take care of her family, but the medical bills and living expenses are adding up quickly. She has had to take time off of work to take care of her son and still manage her three other daughters who are still in school.
As his aunt, I have witnessed how the recent diagnosis of bone cancer has impacted my family. We are all deeply saddened and worried about what the future hold. However, we are not losing hope. We put our faith and trust in God to help my nephew during this time.
My nephew has always loved working out, and he had recently started taking boxing classes. Going to the gym was how he and my sister spent time together, motivating each other to work harder. Since his diagnosis, he has had to stop going to the gym and going to his boxing class. Before being diagnosed, he wanted to later work in a career that involved fitness. However, he is now missing classes during his sophomore year in high school due to all the appointments they've had to attend.
Being the middle boy between four sisters wasn't always easy, but he loves all his sisters, and they share a tight bond. He is a fighter and has been brave throughout this journey.
My sister is trying to balance an already full and hectic schedule. Taking time off of work has been hard as she's the main breadwinner in the family. She's thankful for her two older daughters and family who have been able to help in different ways. Despite the challenges, we are optimistic in the face of this terrible diagnosis, knowing that faith in God can move mountains and heal brokenness.
We are hoping to receive emotional support and financial assistance for my sister and nephew. The funds raised will be used for medical bills and living expenses.
We believe that every donation, no matter how small, can make a difference in the life of my nephew and his family during this difficult time. Your support can bring hope and encouragement to my family as we navigate through this uncertain journey. Please consider donating and being a part of the community that is rallying around my nephew and his family as they face this difficult situation.
Thank you all, from the bottom of my heart, and all those in the Flores and Flores-Loredo Families.
Sincerely,
Ali E. Flores
