Help Support Our Dear Gypsy Rose

In early December 2022 Gypsy started to experience severe pain while she was half way through her first pregnancy. She was not able to walk, sit or lie still without being in excruciating pain. Several trips to emergency, she was told pelvic pain is very common in pregnancy. Four weeks later the ambulance was called and she was rushed to hospital. She was quickly transferred to a different hospital under the care of a multidisciplinary team. Two weeks later surgery was performed to remove a small mass. A week later she received the devastating news that she had stage three c colon cancer which had spread and was attached to her ovary and the mass measured 23cm. She then had to undergo chemotherapy while pregnant which was horrific. Not knowing whether the baby would be born healthy or at what gestation was terrifying. Gypsy required full time carers.

Once complete with all the cycles a second major surgery was performed which went for over 7 hours to remove the baby and tumour.

Then more chemotherapy while trying to spend time with her daughter.

12 months later Gypsy received the heartbreaking news that the cancer had returned.

Gypsy is now undergoing more chemotherapy while trying to raise her daughter with the love and support from her family.

Despite the long bittersweet journey this has been so far, it continues as Gypsy spends as much precious time with her family as she can, while courageously fighting.
