Cancer Doesn’t Care…Family and Friends Do!
Donation protected
Constantine'Gus’ Horiates is my captivating, lovable, and fearless theio (uncle). On November 17th, 2021, the day after his beloved dog passed away, my theio was diagnosed with stage 4 Liposarcoma (a very rare fast-growing aggressive form of cancer). After enduring 3 months of chemotherapy treatments, Gus’ doctor told him that the cancer is continuing to grow and attacking various parts of his body including both lungs, making breathing extremely difficult.
Gus is a loving husband, son, brother, father, papou (grandfather), theio, cousin, and friend to all. Always an active, energetic, and helpful person who constantly makes people laugh, now just walking and talking is a hardship. Gus is compassionate and dedicated to his church and community; he has been a long-standing member of the St. Thomas Greek Orthodox Church board and the AHEPA. Numerous symptoms of this disease have made it impossible for him to work as a manager at Kaminski's Sports Bar & Restaurant since November 20th, yet he still perseveres to care for his mother.
If you know Gus, you know he would never ask for help, yet many of you have asked what you can do. Alleviating the additional financial stress will allow him to focus on his treatments. All funds raised will be used to for medical expenses as such:
• Chemotherapy
• MRIs & CAT scans
• Hospital stays (Gus was already hospitalized for one week in December)
• Medications
• Transport
• Other necessary equipment
If there are funds remaining, a donation will be made to St. Thomas Greek Orthodox Church Building Fund in memory of his father, Elias Horiates, and in honor of his mother, Hrisoula Horiates.
Please share this fundraiser with others and donate as generously as you can. If you decide to donate, we ask that you ONLY give through this platform directly (no cash, no checks, no 3rd parties, etc.).
Thank you for taking the time to care!
