Cancer Fighter Jeffrey Fresnoza Funeral Expenses
Donation protected
To our beloved friends and family, Jeffrey Thomas Fresnoza has always been a fighter but with his recent battle with Sarcoma cancer, his body is no longer able to keep up. His cancer journey started in 2015 when he was diagnosed with Chordoma cancer. It is a slow growing cancer that transpires at any location throughout the spine. Luckily, it was caught early on and for a couple of years he was placed in remission. Fast forward past numerous emergency spinal surgeries, emergency room trips, hospitalizations, and rehabilitation facility residencies. In November of 2022, Jeffrey and his eldest daughter, Melissa, traveled to the Stanford Hospital Emergency to find answers to why his excruciating back pain was starting to increase every day. It was on November 16, 2022, that they were informed Jeffrey had another fast-growing Sarcoma cancer that was at an alarmingly large size. For the months following, Jeffrey underwent intense sessions of radiation and chemotherapy which caused him to develop an infection in the area that his treatments were targeting. At first his care team prescribed antibiotics because he was not a candidate for surgery due to his body still recovering from radiation and chemotherapy. After each round, Jeffrey had to undergo blood transfusions because he was significantly undercount for both red and white blood cells. Around the time of January, his infection became a priority due to how stubborn it was acting and unwilling to go away. Even with the strongest antibiotics being given, it continued to grow and spread. Jeffrey’s care team stated he would have to be on IV antibiotics for the remainder of his life because the infection was too fierce. Jeffrey Thomas Fresnoza has been inpatient at Stanford hospital since April 2023 and his decline in health has been the most drastic when comparing it to his long cancer journey in 2015. With the results of Jeffrey’s recent scans and tests, his Sarcoma cancer and infection are growing and intermingling with each other. The larger pocket of infection is growing more towards his spine, is being more aggressive, and is mixing with his tumor to create an even more serious amalgamation. Unfortunately, there is no treatment plan his Stanford healthcare team feel confident in following through with. They will continue this round of antibiotics until completion but will not continue another round afterwards. The cancer has also violently spread throughout his body leaving his muscles and bones weak. This has caused a fracture in Jeffrey’s leg. They confirmed it was not due to moving or something that could have happened with force. Additionally, his care team will solely prioritize his pain management. On May 5, 2023, his director of health came in and communicated that the timeline looks more like days or weeks in terms of Jeffrey’s passing. The cancer and infection are working at an alarming rate which is poisoning his body. This explains why he gets full body spasms and is constantly in a state of excruciating pain. Each day either shows progress (Jeffrey eating bites of food or drinking sips from an Ensure) or more decline (him unable to swallow medication, comatose-like states where he is not able to wake up, continuous fever spikes, and concerning heart rate spikes). As Jeffrey Thomas Fresnoza’s story comes to an end, he leaves behind his three children Melissa Grace (25), Cynthia Jane (22), and Julian Thomas (16). They set up this Go Fund Me to raise funds to use towards their father’s funeral expenses and they are incredibly thankful for everyone’s support during this extremely difficult time. If you are unable to donate, please share this funeral fundraiser with whomever you are able to. Anything counts and is immensely appreciated by Jeffrey, Melissa, Cynthia, and Julian. They send their love and incalculable gratitude towards everyone able to help. God bless, stay safe, and be well.
