Cancer Fundraiser for Kendra Taplin

Hello friends, my name is Alaina Taplin. I am doing this go fund me for my mom, Kendra Taplin. For anyone that knows her she is a friend and mother to to all. She’s fought so hard to bring our family together, and many know that has been no small thing. I grew up watching welcome my friends as her own, cook for 6 or 20 people whoever happened to be at the house, and see something special in everyone she met. She was diagnosed with breast cancer last year and pursued treatment. It was not successful and the cancer has continued to advance. In November she was hospitalized with a left collapsed lung as the cavity had filled with fluid causing the lung to collapse. The right lung cavity was also filled with fluid and she was retaining fluid in other areas of her body. After a lengthy hospital stay, she was sent home with a catheter to continue draining fluid from her left lung. Chemo is all that is able to be offered to her at this time with the success rate not being great. Because of this, she is pursuing other alternative options in hopes of having success that way. Unfortunately, anything alternative is not covered by insurance so is out of pocket. My parents have already spent quite a bit on alternative treatment but the options are limited as money becomes a significant issue. This doesn't allow her to get the treatment that she needs and could potentially be most helpful. I am setting up a go fund me for her in hopes of raising money to help cover the cost of these treatments. We want her to have the best possible outcome because we need her to be here with us, her family, and friends. Mom has been there and done so much for us and others and now it's our turn to help her out. Please consider donating whatever you feel you are able to.
