My name is Martha and I am raising money for my late cousin's children. My cousin, Irene, was a vibrant, dynamic, 35 year old lady in 2007 when she was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. She never smoked, and we could not determine how she got lung cancer. When my cousin was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer in 2007, she had a 2 month old baby girl named Enoma. She had a five year old son named Oduwa, and a two year old daughter named Yuki. From then on, she submitted herself to clinical trials to prolong her life. She survived for over ten years and then in November of 2018, she died of the disease at the age of 46. The children, all minor kids, were devastated.
Life as the children knew it and as I knew it were never the same. There were emotional, psychological, and financial problems.
In 2024, their dad, Festus, became sick. He complained of back pain and of an inability to walk straight. He was taken to the hospital and after several medical tests in January 2025, he was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. As I write this, he has been transferred into the hospice program and the children are once again going through hell of pain on earth.
My cousins have gone through so much pain and uncertainty in their lives that I would not wish on my worst enemy. The oldest son dropped out of college to help take care of the youngest daughter and took a job, but since his dad is in the hospital, he has been unable to focus on his job responsibilities as he should. The older daughter who is in college, is not doing too well, struggling a lot, and trying to stay strong. The emotional trauma and the financial situation my cousins are going through is immense. The dad lost his job, has no insurance, and the whole family may become homeless because of the inability to make the mortgage payments on the house.
I am appealing to the general public for help for my cousin's children because I want them to know that regardless of all that they are going through right now, there are many kind people out there who will answer my call for assistance on their behalf and to give them hope.
Finally, whatever you can contribute to this fund would be appreciated and God will reward you in His own way. Thanks.
