Cancer Relief Fund For Dad

Donation protected
Hello!

My Dad was recently diagnosed with a very advanced, very aggressive, late-stage form of prostate cancer. At this point it is called "axial skeletal metastatic disease" because the prostate cancer itself has spread throughout his body and is found in all parts of his prostate.  The cancer has been located in his shoulders, ribs, spine, thumbs, and toes, among other places.

My Dad's name is Michael George Arsenault.  He is 67 years old and otherwise quite healthy and very active at his motorcycle repair shop, where he wants to (and needs to) continue to work for the foreseeable future.  You may already know that his wife, my Mom, Polly Ann Arsenault, died in late 2018 following complications from COPD, and the hospital bills numbered in the tens of thousands for my Dad.

My Dad is, every month, doing what he can to pay off those bills, and now he is faced with affording supplemental insurance (since Medicare does not cover cancer drugs, whose cost will be over $12,000 per month) that will likely cost around $600 per month, if he qualifies for it.  Otherwise, he will have to pay for an expensive Medicare replacement plan that will also include co-pays.

The first treatment my Dad faced in the last two weeks (June2019) was immediate hormone therapy and bone strengthening, to attempt to slow the cancer as well as protect his bones from the deterioration from the cancer and the total lack of testosterone in his body.

As of July 9, 2019, he met with his new specialist who is now recommending immediate and aggressive chemotherapy over the course of three months and six treatments. The prostate will not be removed, and radiation is not an option.

With all this said, I would like very much to be able to give my Dad a cash gift to help alleviate some of his immediate bill-paying needs, all of which are health and insurance related in the run-up to his ongoing treatment.  This will also -- hopefully -- allow my Dad to take breaks when he can from work during the exhausting chemotherapy treatments ahead.

If you are able and willing to donate anything to this cause, please know that it would mean the world to me and my family, and I hope it will help my Dad know there are a lot of people out there rooting for him, whether they know him or not.

Thank you!

-Sean (and my brothers, Chris and Douglas)
