Hi everyone! My best friend & the woman I’ve loved for years was diagnosed in September 2021 at age 30 with a rare cancer, stage 4 Leiomyosarcoma. It started as a 16 cm tumor coming from her inferior vena cava which also metastasized into her lungs. She is currently a patient at MD Anderson in Houston which she travels to every few weeks. Michelle has been getting her chemo treatments locally until she makes her way to Houston in the next few weeks to live and undergo radiation for 4-6 weeks. The goal is the shrink the tumor small enough to be able to have a very invasive, reconstructive vascular surgery to remove the tumor and possibly a kidney as long as the lung nodules do not show signs of growth.
This has brought along a never ending amount of hurdles and obstacles that she is having to figure out.
Michelle has spent her life helping everyone around her. From allowing people into her home, to helping them get back on their feet, and always being the friend you can count on. As good of a friend as she is, she is an even greater Mother to her 9-year old son Jackson who is her entire life and the reason why she fights so hard. She is the strongest Warrior I’ve ever met. Her strength and resilience are like none other as she is still working full-time, making ends meet, and navigating this nightmare with a smile each day.
As of today, she has gone through 9 chemo treatments. Each treatment is about 28k and there’s no real end in sight as of right now on this mentally, physically, and financially exhaustion situation.
I’m asking you to please help in any way possible. Every dollar raised will be much appreciated, and will directly help Michelle Beat This Cancer. Most importantly, please continue to keep her in your thoughts and prayers and spread the awareness.
Thank you and God Bless!
