Cancer care & support for Dr. Bonnie Yen (Vignon)

Those who have had the opportunity to be in the company of Dr. Bonnie Yen (Vignon) know, not only is she a talented Emergency Medicine physician, dedicated wife and Mom, but she is a stellar, lively and devoted friend. In the last decade, she has contributed unforgettable tenacity to the emergency department while effortlessly tackling various challenging clinical cases to provide the best care for her patients. Originally from Oregon as the middle of 3 sisters, Bonnie transplanted to the DMV for medical school and residency at Georgetown and has been practicing at Holy Cross Hospital/Trinity Health since graduating 7 years ago, and an employee of USACS. She lives in Virginia with her husband Scott and two young children, Xander (age 8) and Riley (age 6), and dog Chewie(Chewbacca) all avid Star Wars fans.

Our dear colleague and friend Bonnie recently began to experience an odd constellation of symptoms, including fatigue and jaundice, prompting a medical work-up. This led to her devastating finding of advanced abdominal carcinomatosis on July 6, 2022 at the age of 39 years young.

While additional tests need to be performed to elucidate her exact diagnosis and staging in addition to her next steps, we know that Bonnie and her family have a tough road ahead. Bonnie is one of the most devoted and giving individuals. She often said, "If I don't have a good reason not to help, I will help." Now is the time for us to come together to return our love and support to Dr. Bonnie Yen. All donations will be given directly to Bonnie and her family to help with general expenses, medical bills, procedures and treatments, and future education for her children.
