Cancer support for Joanne Felice Boucher

Felice Boucher has been a self-employed photographer since 1990, working throughout New England; her clients have come from all over the country for wedding and portrait photography. Her fine art prints have hung in museums, gallery shows across the United States and in Barcelona, and in many private collections. A recent diagnosis of stage 4 ureter and kidney cancer that has metastasized to the lymph nodes has put an end to her work. She is facing months of intensive treatment as well as financial hardship.

Funds are needed to help with copays for hospital stays, a minimum of two medical appointments per week for chemotherapy and other follow up appointments, as well as for immunotherapy for the remainder of her life. Felice is also working with a naturopath on supportive therapies to offset some of the side effects of two different chemo protocols; unfortunately, insurance does not cover that treatment. In addition to medical bills, help is needed with living expenses in order for her to remain in her home and care for her beloved dog, Flash.

Felice has been a valued and loved presence in the Maine art and photography community for decades. As many of us know, maintaining a career as a self-employed person in a creative field is challenging at the best of times.
