Cancer SurviveOars - 2020 World Championships

Tax deductible
The SurviveOars are a group of women of all ages with all types of cancer who participate in dragon boat competitions. Don’t know what this dragon boat sport is?  Well, it is a 10 or 20-man (very large) canoe.

We recently qualified to attend the IDBF Club Crew World Championships in 2020 in Aix-Les-Bains, France (August 24-30).  We have about half a year to get our funds together and we are asking for support in covering some of the expenses, which are considerable. Some of the women who have worked so hard to qualify will not be able to attend without financial support.

We have recovered from our cancer diagnosis and decided to challenge ourselves and find new endeavors after this life-changing path of cancer.  Enter dragon boating. We practice out of the Newport Aquatic Center, a non-profit organization in California. NAC has helped many disabled people over many years.  None of us are young women as cancer usually strikes as we get older.  So, we range in age from our 40’s into our 70’s and are stronger, both mentally and physically, as we have come out the other side of cancer.

Any donation would be greatly appreciated and you will be supporting some truly amazing, brave, strong women who have faced some very personal challenges and come out victorious!!!!!

If you find yourself piqued by the sport, go on-line and check out dragon boating.
