Cancer warrior and #1 Dallas Cowboy's fan
Donation protected
My name is Juliet, and my family and I are fundraising for one of the most selfless humans I have ever met, my uncle Kevin.
Kevin and his family's world were flipped upside down when they learned he had prostate cancer at a hazardous and life-threatening level. The family I come from are fighters, though. He and his wife pursued whatever they needed to do to help him, which meant an intensive and invasive surgery that would altogether remove his prostate. The journey is not over. Cancer is known to spread aggressively, but my uncle Kevin has the ultimate protector, Jesus, fighting this battle with him.
Kevin and his wife Kathy have two wonderful adult kids, one of whom cannot live independently due to special medical needs. This storm they are enduring has taken a toll financially, emotionally and physically. Kevin has worked joyfully long, strenuous hours to provide for his family. He has a kind, gentle spirit and is fiercely loyal to those he loves. I have never once heard him complain or say something negative about another person. As he, his wife and his kids wrestle with this awful experience, my and my family's heart breaks.
When I think of my uncle Kevin, I think of "Cowboy's biggest fan." I vividly remember the excitement coming across Uncle Kevin's face on Thanksgiving anytime the Cowboys played that day. After we all finished, he would watch television, rooting for his favorite team. He was his happiest in those moments. Maybe not so elated when they lost...but still just thankful to watch them play.
So, my family and I want to send him and his wife to Dallas to watch his favorite team in action, but this time IN-PERSON and not in front of the TV. The VIP Cowboys Experience is our goal. It includes a player meet and greet, a headquarters tour, a VIP tailgate party, and game tickets with spectacular seats. We will also need to buy their airfare and accommodations and send him some spending money.
If you have any men in your life who love football or are die-hard fans of a team, you know just how special this gift will be. After all, he is bravely fighting one of the most brutal fights; we would be honored to send him away, so he can step away from being a cancer warrior and simply be a Cowboy's fan for the weekend. His wife would join him, so he has someone to bask in the moment with and because she has been his rock through everything.
If you choose to donate, on behalf of my family (My nana Carol, GawGaw Tom, mom Angela, dad Jerry, husband Keith, brother Josh, sister-in-law Katie, the cousins, the rest of the Jones's, Nana's sister's family's, and many many many more to name) thank you from the bottom of our heart.
Your donation means more than you can possibly know, no matter the amount.
God bless.
With love,
Niece Juliet & family
