Candace Hunt and Family

I hope this message finds you well. I am reaching out on behalf of my "sister" Candace Hunt. Candace is my daughter Alycia's biological aunt. Candace is currently facing an incredibly challenging time in her life and could use your help. Those of you who know her, know she is a strong independent women who doesn't like asking for help. This is why I am asking for her.

In 2016, she was diagnosed with Lupus and Psoriatic Arthritis. Her illness has caused a great deal of pain and due to it taking so long to get a proper diagnosis, the disease has caused major damage to her spine resulting in two major surgeries. Her last surgery was on Sept 21st and she is still recovering. Unfortunately, she was laid off on September 8 resulting in losing her health insurance and can longer see her rheumatologist and receive her treatments (infusions) to keep her lupus contained. Without medication, her lupus will cause her body to attack the healthy tissue and her organs. She has applied for Medicaid and has been turned down. And isn't able to even attempt at finding a new job as her recovery from spinal surgery will take time.

With two children to care for, she is in a desperate and stressful situation. Trying to provide for her family while dealing with the physical and financial burdens of her surgery. Despite the odds, she is still trying to provide a "normal" life for her children. However, her teenage daughter has been working part time while going to school in order to help bring in some money for the family. My prayer is that her family and friends will come together to offer support and assistance to this precious family during this very trying time. Candace is a strong, compassionate, and hardworking individual who has always been there for others in their times of need. Now it's our turn to be there for her. I have created this go find me campaign to help alleviate the financial strain Candace and the family is currently experiencing. Every contribution, no matter the size, will make a significant different in the family's life.
