Shayne Fisher, long road to recovery!
The Christmas Day accident in Wofford Heights leaves Shayne Fisher on a long road to recovery, and he needs our help!
While traveling on Christmas morning to a family gathering, Shayne suffered significant bodily harm. The slick, rainy road on Christmas morning did Shayne no favors. The vehicle had flipped over with its top torn off, and at this point, Shayne was still conscious, yet his body was underneath the car. A good samaritan attempted to flip the vehicle over to no avail. They were able to jack the car up and assist him in getting out from underneath the vehicle.
Shayne was taken by ambulance to Bakersfield, CA, and put in the ICU. He is suffering from two compound fractures on his left leg, a concussion, an occipital condyle fracture, two broken bones in his right hand, broken ribs, a punctured lung, and a broken back affecting C-7 through T-6, along with multiple facial fractures and lacerations.
Shayne is a 4th generation Kern Valley resident. He and his mom, Candace, work locally and will have to spend the next year(+) traveling to physical therapy, occupational therapy, and specialists. Donations will help cover expenses that health insurance won't and other costs related to Shayne's recovery and loss of income. Candace will need time off work to be Shayne's primary caregiver, and with Shayne unable to work, additional expenses for travel, lodging, and other necessities will quickly add up.
Shayne and his family have always had a heart to help others. Now is an opportunity to lend him and his family support so they can focus on healing and recovery. Any contribution, no matter how small, would be deeply appreciated. Please help us bless this family with the love of God and community.
My name is Sandy (Palmer) Bath from Lander, WY, and I am a long-time friend of Candace and Shayne. Unfortunately, I, too, know first-hand what this family is moving through. Hospitals, traumas, and accidents have touched our family as well. Our family will be forever grateful to those who came together and showed us such loving support without any expectations. It is a humbling experience to receive help of this magnitude, yet financial burdens can slow the healing process. So, please help Shayne and Candace during this time. Share your compassion, love, support, and prayers. They will be eternally grateful and pay it forward when the right time arrives.
