Candy Candela a beautiful friend and mother

It is with a heavy heart that we are posting this.

Our beautiful friend Candy Samantha Michelle Candela lost her 7 month battle with stage 4 colon cancer on Jan 16, 2023. Candy was surrounded by her family and friends in the comfort of her own home. Most importantly, her beloved daughter Catarina was by her side.

Candy was the hardest working gate agent for United Airlines for the past 23 years. Candy made a difference to so many people. She was also a do it yourself, fixer upper, bargain shopper, queen of selfies, roller derby, spray tan sprayer, and talk your ear off best kind of friend there was. But most importantly, Candy was a wonderful single mother to her one and only daughter Catarina. Candy’s pride and joy.

In 2017, Catarina also lost her dad, Mike Martinez unexpectedly as well.

Catarina is a 22 year old senior at the University of Kentucky in Lexington. She plans to major in Communications with a minor in Business. Catarina has captured the heart of everyone she comes in contact with. She’s got the most beautiful smile and beautiful soul. She is very level headed and is a loyal friend. She’s the best.

We wish we could alleviate her sadness from losing her mom to cancer. We are hoping to ease some of her financial stress as she navigates life without her mom and dad.
