CANELO IS IN PAIN!!!

We rescued 8 month old puppy Canelo from Palmdale shelter. HE WAS HIT BY A CAR and turned into shelter by his people to be killed.

The shelter had his leg repaired at a local vet and the postop x-ray showed a good result. A metal plate was applied to put his left thigh bone back together.

His surgery failed. It failed because he did not receive the required postop care back at the shelter. This surgery requires a solid two weeks of crate rest while mildly sedated. He was placed back into his regular quarters at the shelter.

When we received our sweet big boy, the swelling over the his left thigh was quite apparent. Of course we decided to get this looked at because he was walking with a limp and WINCING in utter pain.

We consulted MULTIPLE orthopedic specialists. There was a large callus of bone growing around the area with * A LOT * of muscle swelling OVER rod surgery. The ends of the bone are dislodged and his toes of his back left leg turned outward.

The * FINAL & ONLY DECISION * for Canelo to * LIVE * a full healthy, happy life AND use his left keg * PAINLESSLY. * The bone plate must be removed and insert a new one. He needs the surgery * as he is in A LOT OF PAIN.

His foster has been incredible. She is taking great care of him while he has to be on crate rest in order for the surgery to heal properly this second time around.

Unfortunately, this is absolutely

* CRUSHING * the Rescue’s pockets as it was a more emergent and a complicated surgery. Please consider donating to Canelo’s bill, the 6,000$ does not even include all of the pre visits and

X-rays that were done prior to surgery.
