Can't Make the Gig - You Can Still Donate!

Hi, it's me, Pete from Unknown Sounds.

We are so excited for our First Live Gig in Aid of Musicians Defend Ukraine! It's going to be a great night with excellent independent bands we've featured on our show - Sun-Pinned Leaves, Say Yes Do Nothing, Unorfadox & Plague UK. It's at the Legendary Hope & Anchor in Islington, London!

That's right, it's in London so may be a bit far for you to travel for one night. If you have tickets, I'll see you there, but if can't attend and you still want to support this most worthy cause, the amazing Ukrainian Charity Foundation Musicians Defend Ukraine, you can donate here. We'll add your donations to those made from the gig and present the foundation with, hopefully, a healthy sum to help them continue their work of aiding Ukrainian musicians on the frontlines.

If you've listened to Unknown Sounds, you already know that we've been raising funds to help our brothers and sisters in Ukraine since the start of this illegal war of terror. It all started when I contacted the Ukrainian band krapka;KOMA just after the invasion. We previously played them on the show and I was concerned for their well-being. Thankfully, Ira of the band replied and told me how her world had been turned upside down overnight. She went from living and everyday life to wondering if she'll survive the day. It's truly incomprehensible for you and me, thank goodness. She went on to say how she now works as a volunteer, helping gather money for supplies for emergency medical teams.

Since then Unknown Sounds has dedicated shows to aid the cause by playing Ukrainian musicians, telling their stories and fundraising. So many bands from Ukraine have sent music and continue to do so, and we continue to play and fundraise. Their stories are heartbreaking but the overwhelming thing about it all is every single one of these Ukrainian musicians show courage, strength and resolve that Ukraine will prevail. It is truly inspiring.

The First Live Gig in Aid of Ukraine is the culmination of our efforts to show support so if you can donate, please do. But we know times are difficult so if you can't help, don't worry we understand. But please share this link to your friends an family who might be able to help.
