Canterbury RFC u13’s Challenge – The Road to Portugal

A squad of 28 passionate young rugby players are gearing up for their debut at the prestigious Portugal Rugby Youth Festival! They’ll be facing off against top clubs from rugby powerhouses like Spain, Portugal, Ireland, France and Australia. But to tackle this challenge, they need your support…

We need to raise £650 per child!

The boys are rolling up their sleeves, scrubbing cars, selling tickets (with incredible prizes generously donated – thank you!), and doing everything they can to raise the funds needed to get the squad on tour. They’re putting in the hard yards off he pitch, so they can take on the competition in Portugal!

They’re even taking on the ‘1,300 Mile Challenge’ which see’s all the lads attempting to run, bike, swim, jump etc the 1,300 mile distance from Canterbury to Portugal at the Back on Track Fitness and Therapy, Faversham Pools (great businesses who have lent us there fabulous facilities and will be looked after by their expert team) – date TBC and will be posted on here! The boys will be working together in team relays through the day to hopefully smash the target and get all the support they can!

Rugby isn’t just a game; it’s a life lesson, a friend-maker, and a boost to both mental and physical health. Yet, for many young people across the country, these benefits feel just out of reach – not because of lack of passion, but due to a lack of opportunities. By supporting this epic challenge, you’ll help send out squad to Portugal to create unforgettable memories and new aspirations. Most importantly, you’ll be opening doors to new possibilities and dreams for these aspiring rugby players.

These lad are as committed off the pitch as they are on it – turning up for training week in, week out, even during the summer holidays. Their dedication to the game never waivers, pushing themselves to be ready for every challenge that comes their way!
