I'm John T. Draper a 77 year old USAF veteran,  retired programmer,  and a citizen of the USA.   I  have had a number of serious health issues related to a degenerated spinal disease, where my discs are degrading and rotting away.

I've had at least 5 serious spinal surgeries,  and after each surgery,  the area above and below the site of the last surgery has also needed metal rods to stabilize the surgery.

Up until recently,  the rod supporting the metal screws in each of the vertebrae has broken on the left side,  and my surgeon has told me it was unfixable.

On top of the broken rod,  a recent MRI revealed a pinched nerve,  almost always requiring additional surgery,  but my pain level is always greater then 7 or 8 on a 1-10 scale.

Due to Covid-19,   I've lost 3 important clients who have been keeping me alive and my boss was also struck down with Covid as well,  so my work with them was put on hold.

I did receive a donation from an unknown donor,  which enabled me to purchase an Apple Developer program,  but striving very hard to stay out of the hospital.

I'm on just about every pain medication available through my insurance but my tolerance is so high that these meds are not effective anymore and I'm suffering from the side effects that interrupt my creative powers.

4 months ago,  in June,  I received an RF Ablation procedure that virtually eliminated the pain,  but my insurance company tells me I cannot have this procedure anymore because they (the insurance companies) say it's too risky,  and unfortunately,   after going through more referrals,   I'm told I can get the procedure of I pay out of pocket...   the fee is $2500.

Other issues I have is severe arthritis on my knees,  making it difficult and painful to walk.   I can get a procedure that can fix it,  but was unable to get the insurance to pay the $12,000 to fix it,   or I can get a knee replacement and be on crutches for 6 months.

I live alone,  and have nobody who can care for me on a long term basis,  and although my friends and fans are eager to help me when they can,   my partial disability is making occupational tasks very time consuming and painful.

And now with Covid on the loose,  I'm trying to stay out of the hospital,  and outpatient procedures are much more desirable then long stays in the hospital.

Although the amount I'm asking can certainly cover out patient care and procedures not covered by insurance,   my lack of work has piled on a lot of bills and other expenses,   including life saving medication that if I don't take on a regular basis,   I could die.

I'm very active in the fight against Covid virus and trying to stay out of the hospital long enough to develop an iPad app that uses the new Lidar to scan a room, store, or house to map a space in 3D,  which can then be used with Augmented reality to identify surface areas that can host the virus.

I need the money to pay for medical services not covered by insurance,  additional physical therapy and treatments,  and if I don't get this support,   I could rot in a nursing home,  and not achieve my goal in life,  which is to write useful applications.

I'm getting on 77 years now,  not much time to live,
