Cape Town, South Africa - February 2024

Hi All,

I have been selected to take part in an exciting project to visit Cape Town, South Africa in February 2024 with a select group of students from Ormiston Sir Stanley Matthews Academy.

The project forms part of an enrichment programme designed to challenge and encourage students to learn about different cultures and develop social and personal skills in a team environment.

During the trip, the group will be -

Visiting Schools within Cape Town.

Helping out with preparation and giving out food within deprived neighbourhoods.

Packing and giving out 100 food parcels for 100 families.

Visiting a Foster Carers house to learn about her experiences and the hardships faced.

Visit Robben Island where Nelson Mandela was in prison.

Plus Much More......

An expectation of the project is for Students to engage in fundraising activities to raise £500 required towards a third of the cost of the trip.

My fundraising idea is to commit to completing an 8K run by the end of September.
