It’s been a really tough go lately for everyone, our story isn’t much different than others in this industry. The last thing we wanted was to be asking for handouts. We were looking forward to another year of great events, but obviously that’s not possible right now. Significant Funds are needed for us to have a chance at recovering / relaunching after the pandemic.   We are facing a long layoff from being able to operate.  With mounting debt, 30 staff laid off and no end in sight to social distancing measures.  We are taking on more debt by the day and the gov so far doesn’t seem to be in a position to help venues. We have set a goal of 50k but honestly anything will help. The reasons we have been able to justify moving forward with the go fund me is that we feel we are a large part of the community. Over the past 6 years we have helped to fundraise hundreds of thousands of dollars for our community for all sorts of things and people, we’ve been a back bone for local art and music. The business it self is tricky in the best of times. We look forward to opening but know it’s going to take along time and that we cannot cover our basic bills with take out food and off sale, we are always trying to diversify and look at all possible options. Reopening at reduced capacity will be a challenge and extremely hard to stay viable. We are currently in the stage 3/4 parts of the reopen Saskatchewan plan set fourth by the Province. But we are up to the challenge and want to reopen and remain as a staple in our community for years to come and be able to start hosting events again as soon as possible.
