Captain William (Bill) Gordon - Burial Expenses .
Former Arizona Ranger Captain, Bill Gordon, unexpectedly and tragically passed away on June 28, 2021 due to heart failure. Bill left behind the love of his life, Betsy, his two daughters (Savannah and Jennifer), and Betsy’s two sons (Jason and Robert), and four grandchildren (Caden, Alexis, Mercedes, and Frances), each of whom he was very proud of. He was also survived by his father, Hugh, siblings Paul (his twin brother), Charles, Ruth, and Dianna all of whom live in New Zealand, as well as his brother, Hugh (“Chip”) of Globe, Arizona. Bill was preceded in death by his mother Delores, and his daughter Danielle.
Bill joined the Arizona Rangers in 2009, shortly afterward he became ill with a blood infection that deteriorated his atrial heart valve. Bill underwent open-heart surgery and became a recipient of an artificial heart valve. Bill’s and his wife (then fiance) had planned to be married, and went ahead with their plans and were married in the hospital. After spending a good portion of that summer in the hospital, Bill was sent home to recover.
Bill’s recovery went very well and he was soon back into being active with the Rangers. He was very passionate about his work and made many lifelong friends. In 2015, he was elected as the Captain of the Arizona Rangers, Scottsdale Company. His family was extremely proud and supportive of Bill. In 2017, due to blood clots in his lungs, he reluctantly resigned from his position. He did, however, remain active as an Associate Ranger and continued to assist with their firearms training and qualifications. He continued his work with the Rangers until the day of his death.
In his non-Ranger life, Bill was self-employed for many years working on commercial laundry equipment. He was the service guy for many laundromats in the Valley, as well as many other cities in Arizona. He was self-sufficient and able to help support his family with the earnings from his business. He was dedicated to his customers and had worked on the day he died. Bill was a member of the Rio Salado Gun Club, and a Lifetime Member of the NRA. He was also a member of the USCCA.
Bill was loved by his family and many Arizona Rangers whom he considered to be family, as well as many friends.
