Captains of Capital Cares

Our mission at Captains of Capital is to provide money management and financial literacy resources to adolescents in under-served communities. Over the past 3 years, our organization has engaged with over 1,000 students throughout the greater Boston Area. This has been done in coalition with great nonprofits, businesses, politicians and universities. Thus, showing the power of community.
The impact Covid-19 has had on our country is saddening. Data indicates this global pandemic has disproportionately impacted families and students in lower socioeconomic communities. More now than ever, the younger generation is depending on our efforts to ensure they have access to a quality education as schools transition to virtual and hybrid models.
Captains of Capital has launched, "Captains of Capital Cares", to ensure we are supporting students and their families during this critical time of need.
We have formed partnerships with the Mattapan Teen Center and the Waltham Boys and Girls Club. These organizations will serve as resource centers during the fall. Providing students with an environment to engage in classes online, and complete their coursework in a safe and supportive environment.
Furthermore, Captains of Capital has partnered with Bentley University’s Honors Department to assist with community outreach and resource allocation.
Specifically, your generous donations will be used to provide our partner organizations with educational resources that support student's virtual and hybrid educational success. This includes headphones, USB flash drives, and traditional school supplies.
Once the funds are raised, we will purchase these supplies and have them shipped to our partner organizations. Furthermore, we will construct a spreadsheet that outlines exactly what resources were purchased and where these resources were allocated. Finally, we will provide all of our donors with an update on how the resources are being used to empower student’s education.
We are currently living in an unprecedentedly difficult and uncertain time. However, through our collective collaboration we can make life just a little easier for one kid in need.
Thank you,
Captains of Capital
