Car crash-Single mom-Need Help Please

Hello, my name is Angela. I’m a single mom raising my precious special needs son on my own after my EX abandoned us. I’ve never created a go fund me before as I’ve always been very independent, strong, one to get things done on my own because I have too… I have my precious son who relies on his mommy for everything. My son is my world & he LOVES to play UNO & golf, trash talking the entire time. His happiness is my heart.

On Feb. 28th, 2024, our lives forever changed in a second. It was a cold, stormy morning. We were on our way to get breakfast at Chick-Fil-A before work when the unthinkable happened. At 6:10am, we were hit dead on by someone who chose to speed in wet road conditions. I was at a light that turned green, I turned left, had just started to pick up speed when a driver in a big SUV on the other side of the road hydroplaned, went over the center & hit us straight on. Within seconds everything changed. I remember waking up, trying to yell my sweet boy’s name but couldn’t see him. My glasses were gone, I was stuck & in so much pain. A bystander helped my son out of the passenger side & stayed with him until paramedics arrived. My son was hurt in several parts of his body. I was trapped inside the car where it took numerous firefighters to finally reach me after cutting the doors & roof off. I was badly hurt, resulting in a trauma activation. My head was hit, my femur & hip were both split, my collarbone, my chest & my stomach. I was instantly ran into surgery, then a few days later another surgery where I now have a metal rod in my leg, nails in my knee, metal plates & screws in my hip. I stayed in the hospital for 11 days before transferring to a rehab facility where they can hopefully help me learn how to walk, bend, shower, put on clothes, basic life skills, etc.

I was close to having my Ford Escape paid off when this happened. Now, I have no SUV, nothing to drive (when I can drive), to take my son to his appointments & Special Olympic events.

I currently rent a 3-story townhome where I have over 20 stairs. Not only can I not do those stairs, but the bathrooms are not ADA. I’m extremely worried as I have no clue how I’m going to pay rent for now so my special needs son & I don’t end up homeless. I’m desperately needing a 4 bedroom ranch home with no stairs & basically 2 master bedrooms w/ 2 ADA master bathrooms for my son & I before I get discharged.

Not only do I have nightmares about this event, but now I’m extremely worried about all my regular bills, medical bills for my son & I, medicines, no car, learning basic life skills all over again & now desperately needing a 4 bedroom ranch home w/ 2 ADA Master bathrooms.

One day everything was normal then in a split second, our world was forever changed.

Any assistance right now that can be given would mean a great deal to my son & I & would be life changing. I wouldn’t normally do this but I TRULY NEED HELP RIGHT NOW PLEASE. I am now unemployed & I really need help.
