Help Jonathan, Car Damages Due to Hurricane Ida

Hello my name is Nicole and I am a family friend. I am fundraising for Jonathan Colon. Jonathan has always been a selfless person, always eager to help another regardless of the task, asking for nothing in return. Shortly before the pandemic, after much hard work and a loan, he was able to purchase a car that he loved and enjoyed. He used this car to commute to work, helping those who worked remotely and needed physical help, and help his elderly family members run errands or long commute to doctor visits. Last year, with his car he was able to drive 12+ hours straight to say goodbye to his late grandmother.

 

He has never missed a car payment and finally as he reached a turning point in job advancement, Hurricane Ida struck in New York. As did many, Jonathan thought nothing more of it as rain, until he looked outside. With many storm drains backed up, water flooded the street and by the time anyone could realize, it was already too late and the flood water had claimed Jonathan's car, rendering it inoperable.

 

Due to inspection and towing fees, and other living expenses, the process to afford another vehicle becomes difficult. Although insurance will cover the cost of the car, he is left with very little left over to purchase another car. This funding will help ease his financial burden.
