Car washes and cakes for Uganda
Donation protected
We are Isaac, Kaden and George - Year 10 students at Richard Lander School. This summer we’re travelling to Uganda, where we’ll be volunteering in schools in Kamizunda and Bunjakko.
The work we’ll be doing is varied but includes building, decorating, tree planting and distributing donated clothes, toys and supplies that we bring from the UK. Last year, Richard Lander students renovated school buildings, built a new toilet block, decorated a kindergarten, fixed a play park, fixed guttering and planted hundreds of trees. They installed renewable energy systems, built wooden furniture for schools, distributed food parcels and medical supplies to the elderly and hosted feasts and competitions for the students.
We’re washing cars and selling cakes on Saturday 19th April to raise money to help buy the materials we’ll need for the projects in Ugandan schools. ALL funds raised will be used directly for the benefit of Ugandan people: we are NOT raising money to pay for our tickets or to go on the trip.
