Vehicle for Jewel and Chris

Hello, This is Christopher and Jewel Pearson!

We are raising money to purchase a vehicle here in Lijiang, Yunnan, China. We have been placed in a position of leadership here at the school that we work at and would really like to be able to help give others rides rather than being the ones who need a ride from someone.

For many years, folks have told me that they would buy a CD from me if I made one. I wanted to provide such an album to everyone who was willing to donate (or even to those who are not!) If you send me your email, I will send you 14 songs, as well as a few extra children songs that I have recorded.

All of the money that is received within the goal will be put towards a vehicle that Jewel and I can use here for a couple of purposes:

1. Keep Jewel out of the rain and the cold
2. Provide rides for our teachers and staff members
3. Travel around this area of China for several purposes
4. Visit villages to establish/ grow relationships with locals

If any extra money comes in, it would be used for my continuing education which I will begin at PCC (master of educational leadership) this fall.

The area that we live in does not have well-maintained used vehicles. We have been told that it would be a waste for us to invest any money in a second-hand car.

We are hoping to raise the money before Jewel and I return in August. This way, we can purchase a vehicle before many of the teachers arrive. I have looked into prices of an SUV (which could make the village trips) and they are around 15,000.00 US dollars. We have saved around 5,000.00 ourselves and we are hoping for some help to reach our goal of buying a vehicle by August.

We have been borrowing a vehicle of our good friends, Ian and Candace Crump. We SO MUCH appreciate their kindness in allowing us to use their car while they were in America.
