Cara Fisher Daniels' Treatment Journey
Donation protected
We are raising money for Cara as she begins a courageous fight. Those who know Cara describe her infectious smile, her positive outlook on life, and her never-ending love for her family and friends. She and her husband Paul have two precious children Owen who is 6 and Alania who is 17 months old. These children are her world!
In early December, Cara was rushed to the hospital after experiencing dizziness, weakness, a headache and the loss of feeling in her hands. After running tests, doctors discovered a brain tumor. We are very thankful that Cara had a skilled team of surgeons who were able to remove the tumor. However, the pathology revealed that it is brain cancer which will require continuous treatment and monitoring.
As Cara embarks on this journey, her care will be managed by a team at the Tisch Brain Tumor Center at Duke University and Carilion Clinic. She will begin radiation and chemotherapy treatments soon, and additional treatment options, such as clinical trials, will be explored in the future.
Cara loves her job as an elementary school instructional assistant and has been dedicated to this role for many years. She is passionate about her work and the children in her care, but while she focuses on her treatment, it is unlikely she will be able to return to work. We are asking for donations to support her and her young family as she continues on this journey.
Thank you for your continued thoughts and prayers! We sincerely appreciate your support of our sweet Cara!
