Cara Hobson World Challenge School Expedition to Indonesia

Hello, I'm Cara and I'm raising money to pay for my Wey Valley Academy and World Challenge expedition to Bali, Indonesia in 2026.

The expedition includes trekking up Mount Batur, helping the locals with coastal conservation, reef restoration, canoeing and jungle trekking. It will be a huge adventure which will help me to develop confidence, independence and resilience.

I have to raise all the funds myself so I would be grateful to anyone able to help me reach my goal.

The 5k race challenge will see me entering a race each month for a year in the south west district (as well as representing Poole Runners in my usual cross country and athletics events). I will run 12 x 5km = 60km over the year, with the possibility of longer ones or the odd shorter race depending on availability and age restrictions.

My first race was the MoRun 5k in November followed by others including the Dirty Devil - where I'll be running at Bovington through the mud of the Army tank base, the Bournemouth Bay Run and the hills of the Cheddar Gorge Road race.

I will also be raising money in lots of different ways, from craft fairs, to dog walking to car washing. All sponsorship, however small is greatly received! All money raised will go towards funding my expedition to Indonesia.
