Cardiac Service Dog for Em

Hi, my name is Emelyn and I am fundraising for a Cardiac Alert Service Dog prospect.

As most of you know, I have raised and trained my current service dog Xena for the last four years. Unfortunately a few weeks ago I experienced a medical episode that Xena desperately tried and could not successfully get me out of herself. She ultimately saved my life by alerting my mom of the episode and bringing her to me - where I continued to be unconscious for 25 minutes before EMS arrived.

After that medical episode happened, Xena’s confidence in her ability to task diminished a ton. She no longer showed interest in working the way she did previously. She also struggles with a frequent hind leg injury that takes her out of work for weeks at a time.

After careful observation and consideration, I have decided to start the retirement process for Xena and proceed with training a successor.

Because this was unexpected and an urgent need, and my health is only continuing to worsen - I need help fundraising for the cost of my next service dog.
