Cardiomyopathy UK and CALM

Donation protected
I will be climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania on 14th to 24th March 2019. It is the highest mountain in Africa, about 4,900 metres (16,100 ft) from its base, and 5,895 metres (19,341 ft) above sea level and takes about 6 days to climb.

The reason for this is to raise money for my great friend Lindsey Gordon Thomas' charity Cardiomyopathy UK. An extremely brave, kind, funny, family orientated and loyal man. Sadly, Lindsey died on Sunday the 2nd October 2016 after a rare heart condition at the age of 33. This has been the first time I have been able to do something for this fantastic charity that supported him and his family. Please see the link below to find out more information on how bloody brilliant this charity is.

I will also be climbing Kilimanjaro for The Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) which is an award-winning charity dedicated to preventing male suicide, the single biggest killer of men under the age of 45 in the UK. In 2015, 75% of all UK suicides were male. There are over 6,000 deaths by suicide in the UK every year – an average of 16 per day, 112 per week and 84 of them were male. I am not saying females have it any easier, I can only speak about my experience. I actually only became aware of this website a few months ago. I wish I had seen it sooner. My story below will explain how I nearly became part of that staggering statistic.

I am an extremely private person but am going to open up my social media in case I can help someone. I am not one for likes or comments (which is lucky because I don’t get them anyway). Just please share the bejesus out of this to anyone you feel may need help and, of course, donate anything you can, no matter how little. I am self-funding this trip because I do not want the pressure of having a target put upon me but hopefully we can smash the target that would have been set anyway and 100% can go to both charities.

Thank you guys
