Care for Greyson Miller and family
Life was normal in the Miller household. Mom and Dad were working opposite schedules so one of them was always at home with their three beautiful and lively children. Toys were everywhere, someone always wanted a snack, and Mom felt like there was never enough time in the day to get it all done. Life was normal.
Then came the "c" word. A word none of us expects to hear, because life is normal. What's worse...the "c" word was used regarding the littlest Miller, Greyson. Greyson, who is 2. Let that sink in for a minute.
The Millers are stepping into a new normal. This new normal includes words like "hepatoblastoma" and "port" and "hospital stay". This new normal includes making decisions about how to adjust to a lifestyle where Mom, Patty, needs to quit her job that has been the provision for their grocery budget, in order to be full-time caregiver for Greyson. This new normal requires new logistics, like how will two little girls full of life and energy give space and quiet for Greyson to rest and recover?
The list will go on...and the "new normal" will continue to change for the foreseeable future.
So far treatment has started. Hospital stays have been had. Unexpected expenses have begun. Surgery is looming in the near future. It all happened seemingly overnight. Feeling disoriented just reading this? Now picture Lain and Patty who aren't sitting on a device reading this, but who are living it while still maintaining jobs and a household and three children and coordinating with all the doctors and other medical staff and learning a whole new world of information and communicating all the information to the extended family, and and and. Friends, they need our help!
While the Millers know all hope and provision comes from God, and put their trust in Him, the rest of us have the opportunity to be the hands and feet of Jesus to this precious family. First and foremost, we can pray without ceasing! After that, we can give sacrificially of our time and resources as the Lord leads us to. Are you local? Maybe you can coordinate one of these helpful ongoing acts of love: Meals, childcare. Or maybe you feel lead to give financially, either through giving actual money or by mailing Publix or Target gift cards directly to Lain and Patty. Or maybe your "gifting" is relational, and you can help get the word out to different circles of people to give others the opportunity to help practically as well as provide prayer support. All of these things would be greatly appreciated!
We are hoping to raise funds to cover Patty's income as she transitions home, to cover time off for Lain so he can be with Patty and Greyson for medical appointments and procedures, to cover the cost of parking garages and gas to and from the city, etc.
Please contact me for mailing address and/or alternative ways to send funds.
Thank you so much for your love and care for the Millers!
