Care for Katalina
Donation protected
While getting ready for school on Monday morning (12/11/17), Katalina, a second grade student in our Wakefield-Marenisco School District, had an accident in which she fell down the last few stairs in her home. This fall resulted in severe impact and trauma to the right front of Katalina’s brain. After receiving care at the Aspirus Ironwood Hospital (Grand View), Katalina, and her mom, Jessica Bartlett were airlifted by helicopter to Duluth to receive more intensive care. Currently, Katalina is in a medically induced coma and on a respirator to assist her breathing. Due to the swelling in her brain, and the resulting seizures, doctors are electing to keep her in the coma. Duluth is nearly three hours away from our small community, and in these winter months, it can take even longer for her family to make the trip. As a tight knit community, we are asking for donations to help with all medical expenses. Thank you for your support, and please keep Katalina and her family in your prayers.
Sincerely,
The Wakefield-Marenisco School District Teachers, Students, and Staff
