Care for Nick - upcoming medical procedure
Donation protected
Hello! Mark Paul Pierpont here! Finally after over a year of horrible and tragic health, Nick and I are well on our way to full recovery. It's certainly a miracle.
I was initially not expected to recover fully. Miraculously, I began to slowly recover one day at a time. Nick and I were able to reconnect by telephone but did not have regular communication until I was transferred to a nursing facility.
And there I began to recover day after day and I was better and better. I began to sing all the time, I would walk the halls of that tiny facility and sing. At first it was very quietly but then over time people began to ask me to sing a little louder. Some of my favorite nurses who really cared to help my recovery encouraged me to sing. They learned bits of the songs I sang and sang along. We filled the otherwise sad halls with joy.
At times I was even asked to sing and take the microphone in the patient break room and share my joy with everyone. I was able to make a lot of fine friends.
You see, I understood their brokenness because I was broken as well. Now that I was recovering and my faith was strong I wanted to encourage others along the path to healing. At the very least I wanted to bring them some Joy.
Now I am living in a small studio apartment in Orlando, and I long to be strong and support the love of my life, who needs my companionship and help.
Nick is in Maryland, where he is staying with family and under constant care with a team of doctors to prepare him for an upcoming organ transplant. This is vital to his survival, and he is right now on a wait list from a matching donor when one comes available.
While it looks promising that that may be soon, we are painfully aware that his recovery from this surgery may last for weeks or months. During that time he will not be able to move away from his Baltimore residence and keep his Medicaid coverage in place.
I need your help. I belong with Nick. I am committed to support him for better or for worse.
We have not seen each other for nearly a year. We chat several times a day, and facetime occasionally. We long to be together. The long range plan is to move and get a small room or apt in the Baltimore area, so Nick can continue his care.
Right now, I am hopefully planning a preliminary visit to Baltimore. This will give us a few days to reunite. JOY!
As we work out the details, I am starting this GoFundMe as a surprise for him. Thanks for anything you can contribute. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions or ideas you may have.
Every contribution counts. Just a tiny mustard seed grows a towering tree! Together we can be a blessing to Nick in this turbulent time.
Please pray for Nick's speedy recovery. ❤️
