Care for Teegan

My name is Jen & though this is probably the most difficult thing I've done, I feel that I have no choice. Usually we give & help others. With that being said:

My nephew Teegan age 7 has fallen ill. His parents decided to rush him to children's hospital in Pittsburgh, Pa when he only stayed awake for about 11 minutes in 24hrs & in that 11 minutes of being awake couldn't walk as his legs were like jello.

While at Children's Hospital they determined that he has 3 viruses so far. He has rhino, adenovirus, and metapneuno virus. His brain is infected & causing it to swell. They found carbon monoxide in his body so inserted a breathing tube to help, mucus in his lungs as well & 1 may be collapsed. They're waiting until it's safe for him to get a lumbar puncture to find which virus is attacking his brain.

The doctors said he will most likely be there for weeks & have a very long road ahead (this is the part we're trying to stay positive because the worst case is unimaginable). (This all happened within 3 days) There's more but it's just too much.

With all of that being said, I'm sure you can imagine the cost, co pays will come, mom & dad needing to eat while there (when the stress & anxiety let them) & dad having to miss work to be there with his son & mom. Gas to & from Ohio to get personal supplies that they need & to make sure the house is still standing.

Anything would help & be greatly appreciated. If you can't donate please share. This is also something every parent needs to read, if for no other reason than to just be aware. We don't want this to happen to ANY other child (as the first hospital stated it was a virus, but didn't determine what virus & sent him home & told "if it gets worse just bring him back" & within 24hrs he was catastrophically worse & basically unresponsive. He was at 3 places, school, home & an indoor trampoline park. 3 fairly common viruses but all 3 at once & his little body has been struggling to fight them all at once. (I chose this pic because him on all the machines is just too difficult to look at)
