Care of Coach Doba
If you are from Warren, Mi
and an athlete .....
you are have to have encountered and been familiar with The Hall of Fame Coach Bud Doba!
Coach Doba has continued to coach track and field at Cousino high school up until last track season
and he always emphasized self-esteem and leavingeverything you got in the weight room this
included whether you were a boy or a girl!
His coaching philosophy reminds me of:
the famous distance runner Perfontaine’s quote
“To give anything less than your best is to sacrifice the gift”
He recently suffered a brain bleed after a
traumatic head injury from the fall in October 2019 and he has been at Beaumont hospital and a rehab center recovering surroundedby family.
In November 2019 while in the rehab center
Coach Doba was eager to get up and be independent like he was prior to his fall and he
suffered another fall at night at the rehab center this time fracturing 2 vertebrae in his neck.
He has since been discharged home but remains
on 24 hr care due to inability to stay at the
rehab center medical expenses are high for
recovery at home starting at approximately
$15,000/ month (with insurance).

Coachs daughter Coach Jen Doba has accepted
to be
the beneficiary of the funds / donation & I have

The Doba family has exhausted their resources & are in need of all his
former athletes to contribute anyway they can!
