Care to help Bud - severely injured pit bull
Tax deductible
Update as of 3/2/23 Bud is making wonderful progress and has put on 6 lbs. We are also planning to host a Walk Against Cruelty in a few months in honor of Bud, and he will be our Walk's mascot. Please check out his most recent photos and see his improvement. We also thank all our donors who contributed to his recovery!! Bud says
, "Whoof, whoof!" which obviously means "thank you" in the canine language.
Update as of 2/6/2023 - Thanks to all of you who donated, prayed, or sent well wishes, Bud is recovering! The vet clinic discharged him several days ago, and his prognosis looks good! He is walking a little, ate some canned food (he still, obviously, has trouble chewing), and loves the attention he is getting from his new family. We sincerely thank each of you for providing the funds needed to treat him!!! You are an amazing group of caring individuals!
While driving on a highway in Sunset, Louisiana, in St. Landry parish, Amy Miller thought she saw the outline of a dog. It was storming and it was hard to see more than a few feet in any direction. As she got closer she saw a poor dog, barely able to stand, standing in the middle of a lane! Amy pulled over, got him in her car, and drove home.
Once she got home, Amy realized how seriously injured he was. He was covered in bite marks and lacerations. Unable to afford the veterinary care to treat him, Amy reached out to the Humane Society of Louisiana, and they agreed to pay for his care.
Bud remains hospitalized and is on fluids, pain meds, and antibiotics. He is improving a little bit each day, but it will likely take weeks or months before making a full recovery.
To help raise funds for his continued care, please make a modest donation or share this post.
On behalf of Bud, Amy, and the Humane Society of Louisiana, we thank you!
