Care to help Phat? A few days ago, a middle-aged man attacked Phat, a one-year-old border collie, with a knife, cutting him several places. We're raising funds for his care and urging the Opelousas Police Department to arrest the attacker. Surveillance video shows that Phat wag his tail when the man approached the sweet dog and merely jumped on him in a friendly manner. The suspect told police the dog attacked him so he acted in self-defense.
We plan to speak with the chief of police in a few days, asking that they review our findings. We believe that the use of a knife was not necessary, and the dog was not aggressive. The suspect could simply have walked away.
We paid for a local vet clinic to surgically treat Phat's wounds. They also sent him home with anti-biotics.
In the meantime, please donate to Phat's care or share this appeal.
