Caregiver Support for our Mom and Grandma

Dear friends,

We hope this message finds you well, though it brings us great sadness to share the news of our mom's recent diagnosis. She has been diagnosed with stage four metastatic breast cancer, and the long-term prognosis is terminal. However, with hormone blockers, there is hope for some more precious time with us.

Unfortunately, she faces a major obstacle in the form of a large tumor in her stomach, which is preventing her from eating and has resulted in a considerable weight loss, significantly reducing the time we have with her. Despite undergoing six rounds of chemotherapy, the tumor remains unaffected, which has been heart-wrenching for all of us.

Recently, a stent was inserted into her stomach with the hope of enabling her to eat again. However, things have taken a turn for the worse, and she is currently enduring a great deal of pain and still not able to eat. She's now in the hospital receiving nutrition to prepare for a partial stomach removal, a surgery that carries significant risks but offers a glimmer of hope for her ability to eat again and spend more time with us.

Throughout this challenging journey, our mom has also been the primary caregiver for our 97-year-old grandmother, whose care is of utmost importance. As she undergoes her recovery process, we need to secure caregivers for both mom and grandma to ensure they both receive the love, attention, and support they deserve during this difficult time.

With heavy hearts, we reach out to you, our dear community, for assistance.
