Food Bank Needs To Relocate
Donation protected
My name is Rachel.
Alongside my husband, Jamie, and some incredible volunteers, we run a Food Bank called Care and Share Waterlooville. We help our community by providing food, toiletries, baby supplies, hygiene products and general daily household items to those who are struggling and need some extra support.
It is currently based in our small dining room and in order to grow and help more families, we need to move the food bank out of our home and into it's own premises.
Our Care and Share journey started when we entered the first Covid lockdown in March 2020. We were appalled by the number of people/families around us in our community who were struggling to make ends meet, with some going without food so they could feed their children.
Since we started, Care and Share has amassed a huge following, with us helping on average 20 families a week with our care parcels.
We are quickly running out of space and are needing to expand and move to a bigger premises. Our local church, Sacred Heart of Jesus and St. Peter the Apostle Waterlooville have agreed that we can use a space in their car park, we just need to supply the accommodation.
That's where you come in!
Anything you can spare and donate to our cause will be greatly appreciated! Our goal is to reach £7500 as quickly as possible as we have already found a container unit that would be perfect for Care and Share.
The £7500 will get us the basic shipping container unit that we can then adapt to our needs, delivery to the church site and tweaks to the foundation so that it is level. We will carry out the internal decorations and repairs ourselves in order to keep costs low.
Any contributions, large or small, towards our target will enable Care and Share to expand and continue to provide a much needed service.
