Cargo Bikes can save the world!

Upwards of 40% of what is sent to landfills is FOOD! To make matters worse, prepared food stuffed in plastic bags improperly decomposes into methane and other useless byproducts (instead of nutrient rich compost) which is 20 times more heat absorbing than carbon dioxide in fueling climate change! Meanwhile, we have countless poor and food insecure families struggling to secure healthy, balanced meals right here in our own city.

With the obscene amount of waste built into the economy, we have a huge opportunity and responsibility to right these wrongs by creating solutions that can tackle these challenges simultaneously.

To achieve this, I am creating sustainable and reliable transport systems using cargo bicycles to help redirect excess food from cafeterias and restaurants to local community pantries and organizations.

With our partners including Transfernation and Project DASH, we have rescued tens of thousands of pounds of food from cafeterias and restaurants, empowered our pantry networks to serve thousands of meals, and have created meaningful, mission driven jobs that pay a living wage. Now its time to grow this to the next level!

After years of doing the work, building relationships and finding my mission, I now humbly ask for support to take this work to the next level and help grow my business, CargoBike Solutions Inc. 

I'm seeking to raise $50k in order to acquire a fleet of cargo bikes that help day to day operations and will succeed in:
Reducing needless food waste
Stocking Pantries that serve the poor, homeless, elderly and food insecure
Reduce urban emissions that fuel climate change
Creates LIVING WAGE JOBS for people that need work

The $50k will specifically provide financing for 5 additional Bullitt cargo bicycles and related hardware, storage/operations space, and insurance. A single cargobike can provide meals to upwards of 400 people in a single day, by transporting over 450 pounds from food donors to local pantries! 

I'm also working on creating "thank you" gifts from Tshirts, hats, stickers and more.
