Caring Cot in honor of Eastyn Marie AuBuchon
My husband and I found out at 36 weeks pregnant that our sweet baby’s heart was no longer beating. On August 13, 2019, we delivered our precious Eastyn only to say hello and goodbye in the same day. It has been our mission to honor our daughter and her short life in everything we do ever since.
We were lucky enough to deliver in a hospital that had many resources available for those in our situation. One of those resources was a cuddle cot. If unfamiliar, a cuddle cot is a cooling cot that allows bereaved parents the gift of time. These cots allow grieving parents to spend as much time with their baby as they’d like without any time constraints.
Recently, it was brought to our attention that our local hospital does not have access to a cuddle cot. Unfortunately, this loss is unstoppable. We are not the first to deliver stillborn, nor will we be the last. Our hope is to raise enough money to supply our local hospital, Parkland Health Center, with a Cenotaph Caring Cot.
