HELP CARING EAST GIPPSLAND TO FUND CANDIDATES FOR EGSC

Caring East Gippsland is the name of a group of East Gippsland locals who are supporting passionate, committed and caring candidates for the 2024 elections to the East Gippsland Shire Council.
We are seeking donations to help fund their election campaigns. If you prefer to help in other ways, that would be really great too.
CARING EAST GIPPSLAND stands for an inclusive, healthy, and thriving community.
The candidates we are supporting, are independent - from each other and from any political party.
They have different interests, perspectives and backgrounds; however, they all have a deep commitment to a set of values that we consider necessary for councillors working for East Gippsland.
The values are of a general nature, and do not represent a particular position on any issue.
The candidates supported by Caring East Gippsland have confirmed their values through a formal interview process.
The values are:
- The community is at the centre of decision-making, and people are supported to be healthy and happy.
- The economy is strong and supportive of everyone.
- Closing the gap for the First Nations people is a priority.
- The country is cared for and restored where needed.
- The wildlife and forests, lakes, rivers and mountains are valued for their beauty and natural values.
- The diversity within the community is respected and valued.
- Young people are provided with opportunities for growth, training and jobs.
- Arts, culture and heritage are valued as an integral part of our diverse communities.
- Smart, healthy enterprises are supported to be established and grow.
- Relationships between the community and the East Gippsland Shire Council are positive, trusting & open.
- The risks and opportunities of climate change are understood and planned for.
- The candidates are NOT current members of ANY political party.
We all want a caring East Gippsland: we want RESPECT, GOOD HEALTH, OPPORTUNITY and PROSPERITY for everyone.
The candidates we are supporting are:
Tom Crook, Judy Ireland, Cheryl Jakobi, Steven Columbus, Sasha Kruse, Suzanne Davies, Jes John and Aly Nichol.
The Caring East Gippsland support team includes Josie Jakobi, Jane Greacen, David Campbell, Mendy Urie, Grace McCaughey, Isaac Carne, Andrea Court, Garry Yellen, Katherine Argentino, David Nicastro, Loulou Gebbie, Eve Cash, Rick Jakobi, Angus McKay, Neil Smith, Helen Sheil, Ro Gooch, Elfian, Deb Schmetzer, Paula Jorgenson, Charley Daniel, Sally Kendall, Tracie Thompson, Susanna Bady, Garrett Hall, and Amelia Young.
We are raising funds to help cover the costs of the candidates' campaigns. So far this has included advertising in the local newspapers and on social media, printing pamphlets & flyers, and posting them to households throughout East Gippsland, and the launch that we held in September.
