Caring for Kaytie
Donation protected
Hi everyone,
I am starting this fundraiser on behalf of my sister, Kaytie O’Hara, as she enters her fourth year of medical challenges due to bone cancer in her face. She is currently in surgery for her lungs to remove nodules they strongly feel may be a cancer recurrence. There is never a good time for this but it’s particullary challenging because she was looking at finally starting facial reconstruction in the fall.
Most of you know about her journey and if not you can read about her story on her post hope page ( https://posthope.org/kaytie-ohara/about). Her strength and grace with which she handles this long and difficult journey never ceases to amaze me.
After 8 surgeries and looking at several more in the future, the financial burden is one thing I wish no patient had to be worried about (Her future facial reconstruction surgeries and dental prosthetic are actually considered elective and are not covered by insurance!!).
Thank you all so much for your kindness and support.
