Caring for Mattie Dean: Funds for Final Arrangements

Hello, my name is Haylie Wallace, and I have created this GoFundMe to ask for your support during a heartbreaking time for our family.

My Nanna, Mattie Helen Dean (78), has passed away, January 3, 2025 after spending the past year battling severe illnesses and multiple hospital stays. Her most recent hospital stay left her diagnosed with lymphoma in her neck, chest, and stomach—along with the possibility of lung cancer. We take comfort in knowing that she's no longer in pain from these awful illnesses.

Thank you to everyone that came to say your goodbyes and see her one final time. Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to call my momma, Denice Lopez and let her know that she's not alone. And thank you to everyone that has sent kind and healing messages to my momma.

My momma was the only child my Nanna had and was her caretaker for the past few years. We are asking for help with the costs of my Nanna’s cremation and end of life. My Nanna does not have a life insurance policy, and after researching different costs, the lowest costs for cremation services we could find were around $2,000. Every dollar will go toward ensuring that my grandmother is given the respect and dignity she deserves in her final resting place. Anything over this amount will go towards helping my mom navigate the unexpected financial strain during an already difficult time.
