Caring for the Comiskey Family
Donation protected
As many of you may know, Alex was called to Heaven on December 7th after a 4 year long battle with cancer. Although he endured numerous high and low moments throughout this time, his perseverance and resilience was unmatched and one that I, personally have admired. The strength that it took, not only physically but emotionally and mentally, to show up each day to fight this battle was incredible and one that he continued until his last moments.
The choice to show up in the face of such overwhelming odds is something we can each carry with us. To know the battle can be long, to worry that the pain might be too much, and to show up to face it bravely takes a certain kind of spirit and faith. Alex showed so many of us what it meant to have both.
His love and humor are carried forward in life by his two girls, Charlotte (12) and Violet (6), and his memory of time spent with them will be kept bright by his wife, Krystal.
In lieu of flowers and to color in the picture of their dad's life and impact on others, Krystal is requesting that anyone who felt impacted by Alex's life in any way, large or small, take a moment to write down their thoughts. This could be a paragraph or several pages, a funny story or sentimental moment--anything and everything that knowing Alex could inspire. She hopes to bind these letters and notes in a book for the girls, a time capsule of who their dad was and is to so many of those that loved and knew him best. He can live on in these pages. Letters may be brought to his memorial service (details to follow) or mailed to the following email address: [email redacted]. (no spaces in the email)
This page was created in response to the number of you who have inquired about ways to help the family. Not only will the donations be used to help with final medical bills and expenses, but also to provide financial support in the uncertain times ahead.
Thank you to everyone who has continued to keep Alex and his family in their constant prayers. Each one made such a difference.
Memorial service details will be finalized and posted here within the next 72 hours.
