CARING FOR THE CORONAS

Such a gorgeous love story….Jill Merta met Jesse Corona when she was in 5th grade. They got married in June 2008. They have four beautiful children: Ellie Kate (11), Luke (9), Charlotte (7) and Claire (4). This Christian family are members of Community Bible Church (CBC) and Jill has attended since she was a child. They are needing all the support and prayers for strength, healing and recovery.

The story:

At the beginning of August, this sweet family found out Jesse has colon and rectal cancer. They were in the process of switching health insurance. Since there wasn’t Cancer insurance, the cost was greater to obtain and the deductible is much higher.

He first had surgery on September 20th to remove his colon and rectum. His 2nd surgery (J pouch) was November 8th to avoid the need for a permanent opening.

His body has struggled with the recovery and healing through these surgeries. It has been a very difficult process and he has been in so much pain.

Jesse is not able to work which means there’s no income coming in except Jill’s elementary Art teacher paychecks. She has taught Kinder, 1st grade, 2nd grade and Art over the past 14 years. She has touched so many lives with her love, passion and guidance. Jesse works a commission physical job and isn’t able to get back until he is recovered and healed.

Jesse was admitted back into the hospital on January 7th because his body has been in so much pain and not healing or recovering correctly. They are waiting results from several scans on what the next steps are. The doctors are concerned with growth spots on his liver and the scans will give more information.
