For a donation of only $88.00 you can pay for a life saving heart surgery for an infant or young child. In India, every hour about 20 children are born with heart defects and about 5% of those children die within a month due to lack of proper treatment. Recent data suggest that nearly 12,000 children with heart defects are waiting for surgery in Tamil Nadu, India (DHS Data 2016). About 80% of the infants and children who receive the needed surgery can live healthy lives.
All these children need is financial support. Your tax deductible donation* of $88.00 can pay for a life saving surgery. Think about it! Many of us will pay that much for a dinner out. How is it possible to offer heart surgeries at such a low cost? With the support of generous grants from Rotary International, the sponsorships of Rotary Club of Pasadena, CA, Rotary Club of Madras South, their respective Districts and funding from the State of Tamil Nadu, India, we can join together to provide more than 200 heart surgeries to infants and children with congenital heart disease. Our modest goal is $17,500.
